- Crepe : 2 hours worth of Latex collected after initial cutting is collected and settled in a vat with some chemicals for one day.
The following day it is processed through a roller and made into crepe sheets.
It is air dried for one week before being sold to the buyer.
- Cup Lump or Scrap: After collection of the latex in the morning, coagulant is added into the collecting cup to mix with the remaining latex drippings from the rubber tree which will cause it to harden. It is sold without processing to the buyer.
Crepe is generally more expensive than Cup Lump.
Rubber Production Methods
There are two ways to create rubber products, one is the natural method using the sap from the rubber tree. The second is synthesizing it from oil. Drawback to the natural method is that there are some people who are allergic to natural rubber.

The department of agriculture would be the best place to ask. If you are from Mindanao, you can try the municipal agri office of the LGU in Makilala in Cotobato. They had a pilot farm there on rubber trees where they offer seminars. Not sure if it is still up though.
