The Six Ways of Becoming Rich

Let’s face it, who doesn’t want to get rich? Almost everybody does right? I remember my Dad telling me that there were six ways to get rich in this world (he probably read it somewhere), and those six ways were:

1. Born in to it - this is the quickest way to becoming rich and this not an option that you can choose. You are what’s known as a member of “the lucky sperm club”. And you have a right to be in this club because you beat out a million other sperm to the not only the prize of life, but a life with a silver spoon in your mouth. Unlike your illustrious fore bearers who amassed wealth through hard work, your problem will be mainly preserving the wealth handed to you.
2. Married into it - You might not have been born rich, but you had the luck to marry somebody who was. Of course the problem here is that you might have to swallow your pride if ever your wife’s relatives are the nasty type who look down on you for marrying into their life of opulence.
3. Steal it - quickest way to getting rich as well as landing in jail. Of course even if you don’t get caught, your wealth will be forever tainted with the guilt of not acquiring legally your wealth. Then again, if you really are that dense, maybe it won’t even bother you?
4. Win it - you are that “one” in the one-in-a-million-shot of winning the prize. The time to get to that spot varies. It could have been beginner’s luck, hit it on the first try. Or it could have been after 30 years of religiously lining up at the lotto stand to buy a lottery ticket.
5. Work for it - no need to explain this. You took your licks, climbed ladders and all your decisions came out on top. In the end you harvested the sweet fruits of your labor.
6. Born Lucky - yeah there are actual people like this. It’s not like hitting the jackpot, because you intentionally placed your bet in the hopes of getting the prize. Here you could have been just standing on the side of the road when the big bucks landed on you. I knew one guy who’s father saved the life of another guy and because of that he landed a couple of million bucks from the guy he saved. It wasn’t planned but the consequence were a result of him being at the right place at the right time.

They say that being rich doesn’t bring happiness, but neither does being poor. Choosing between being rich or poor, you would definitely want to be rich.

Definitely a question you have to ask yourself is how rich do I want to become? Will I be satisfied with being able to feed my family for a lifetime? or 10,000 life times? Will I be contented with what I have within the four walls of my domain? or would I want to take a swipe at what my neighbor has?

Something you have to realize though, is that when you die and meet face to face with your Creator. You won’t be asked how much you had made, but rather, how much you had given back. Yep, wealth, you can’t take it with you.
