More often than not every sales pitch will start with the Hype.
Grandiose tales of a product or business proposal giving you things beyond your wildest dreams. The initial phase is like a wave hitting you smack on the face when your sitting by the beach. The trick now is to pick yourself up after the initial wave so that you have your wits about and not leaving you at the palm of the hand of the speaker
As the saying goes, if it’s too good to be true it probably is. In order to succeed in life you need to take risks. But as Sun Tzu’s Art of War always says, the outcome of every battle is won in the planning tables long before the first shot is ever fired. So do your homework and study it from every angle. That way, the risk your taking is calculated. Other than that, you are no better than gambling your money away at the casino.
A founder of a popular and very successful bookstore once said that the secret to success has never really been a secret. It has been out there all along. All it takes to succeed is hard work, patience, perseverance and despite all your failures and setbacks, never giving up on your dream.
Of course, it really helps if you have a product that people can do without.
